WHAT IS A
LUTHERAN?
As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America, St. Timothy’s is one of 11,000 congregations
with over 5 million members. We share the same basic
beliefs and work in partnership with many other
Christian denominations.
A LITTLE
HISTORY
St. Timothy’s emerged as a suburban mission development
from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in urban Rensselaer.
The first worship service was held on September 7, 1958
at the Defreestville Fire House. Over the next 45
years, St. Timothy’s was blessed with committed members
and pastors who worked to establish St. Timothy’s as a
community church. Most recently, Pastor Lee Dyer served
at St.Timothy’s for over 30 years. The compassionate
spirit of St. Timothy’s has been greatly influenced by
him and by those who have dedicated so much of
themselves to share Christ’s love with the community.
HOW CAN YOU
GET INVOLVED?
There are many opportunities to get involved at St.
Timothy’s! Please, join us for worship on Sunday
mornings at 10:30 am. Children are an important part of
worship and we strongly encourage you to bring your kids
and grandkids! Sunday School is from 9-10:15 AM.
